It was announced today by owner Amy Dowd that Coastal Marketing Solutions (CMS) has launched a series of classes called Marketing Classes for a Cause. Ten percent of every ticket sold in 2018 will be donated to the Sgt. Sean M. Gannon Memorial Fund through the Yarmouth Police Foundation.
“Like everyone, I was devastated to learn about Sgt. Gannon’s death,” said Dowd. “I have known Sean’s wife since she came to the Cape and at the time was working at CCYP. I was on vacation in Florida when I heard the news and I just felt sick. Of course, I donated personally, but I really wanted to do more and struggled with how I could help as a business owner of a service-based business. I had been planning to run some classes and it suddenly occurred to me that I could donate money from every ticket sold this year to the Fund in Sean’s name.”
The classes range from creating a marketing plan, how to get your news in the news, and what to do now that you’re on LinkedIn, to four mid-level classes that help business owners and non-profits get the most out of their Constant Contact online marketing solutions. Each class is $50 per person. The initial classes are being held at Cape Cod Tree and Landscape located at 39 George Ryder Road in Chatham, and at the “Sean’s House” – the Yarmouth Police Department located at 340 Higgins Crowell Road in West Yarmouth. The first class is on Tuesday, May 15th in Chatham and attendees will leave after two hours with their own marketing plan in their hands.
